Hey there! I'm Rachel Hawkins, a passionate and versatile UX designer with a strong background in digital product design and accessibility. Driven by the belief that user experiences should be intuitive, inclusive, and delightful, I'm constantly exploring innovative ways to create meaningful connections between users and products

My journey began after graduating from UNC Charlotte in 2016, where I landed my first role at Calyptix, a network security company in Charlotte, NC. There, I honed my skills in wireframing, prototyping, UI design, and data analysis.

Venturing further into the design world during this time, I delved into learning HTML5 and CSS, enabling me to create responsive website designs.

Joining AAA in 2018 marked a pivotal moment in my career, providing me with hands-on experience in app design, information architecture, interactive prototyping, and user testing, all within an AGILE environment. Additionally, I had the opportunity to focus on accessibility, which led me to become CPACC certified in 2021.

In February 2022, I embraced a new challenge as the Senior Product Designer at SchoolPass, an education technology startup. As the sole UX designer, I championed discovery trio teams representing UX, product, and development disciplines. Together, we conducted insightful interviews to identify user pain points, fostering better communication and ensuring a shared understanding of the product across the sprint team, resulting in reduced engineering rework and better cross-functional collaboration.

Taking my UX expertise to the healthcare industry, I joined Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies in June 2023. Alongside my work with Terumo, I'm open to taking on freelance clients. If you're interested in working together, feel free to reach out to me at Let's create amazing experiences together!
